I knew at the age of 8 that I wanted to be a teacher. I come from a long line of teachers. My father, aunt, and great-aunt were all teachers and had a profound impact on my life. As a result, I have made it my life’s work to develop great teachers, instructional coaches, and school and district leaders. I am an award-winning educator with over 35 years of experience as a district administrator, instructional coach, teacher, and now, owner of Schoolhouse Mentoring, LLC.
Schoolhouse Mentoring, LLC is my way of sharing with teachers, schools, and districts across the country the best, highest-quality professional development programs to transform schools at the core level.
I am joined by consultants who are experts in all of the specific skills that educators need to be successful in the classroom and have engaged students who want to learn and are excited to come to school each day.
We bring the energy, fun, and engagement back into Professional Learning!
After graduating from Wofford College, I began my teaching career totally unprepared for the realities of the classroom. I had no real support other than the teacher’s lounge. And we know how dangerous that can be!!
I know that I would have become a Champion Teacher and Leader so much faster if I had someone like me to guide me throughout my education career as everything in education changed.
with my husband of over 30 years, Charles and sons, Adam and Aaron. In the fall of 2021, we welcome Adam’s wife, Natalie to our family. Some of my favorite things are spending time on the beach, watching British TV and Period dramas, spending time with my college girlfriends, watching Carolina Gamecock sports, and doing mission work with my church.
A little encouragement goes a long way.
